These were all the steps that you had to take in order to successfully complete the rooting process.
Verify that the root was successfully applied by downloading the Root Checker app from Google Play Store. Install the app and then launch it on your device. Press the ‘Verify Root’ button and then it should tell you whether the root was successful or that it failed.
If the root was successful then you can close this tutorial. If you had problems while rooting the device, then you should continue reading the ‘notes’ below.
NOTE 1: if ODIN freezes or it displays the ‘FAIL’ alert, then you should repeat the entire tutorial more than once. Make sure that you won’t skip any steps. If you need more help then you should try to use our comments field.
NOTE 2: if Odin says that the root was complete, but the phone is unable to boot in normal mode, then you will be forced to apply a factory reset. This process will wipe all data from your phone’s system partition, but it will make it boot in normal mode.
Here’s how to apply a Factory Reset for your Sprint Galaxy S4 Mini: power it off completely, then boot it into Recovery Mode and select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’, confirm process after that. Reboot the device in normal mode and that should be all.
