The following post will teach you how to root Sony xperia TX L T29i running on the latest Android Jellybean 9.2.A.1.215 firmware without touching the boot loader of the device. We are going to use XDA Dev GeoHot’s towel root application, which is capable of rooting a number of android devices without any requirement or rules. Just follow these guidelines which are listed below.
Guidelines and Requirements:
- Guidelines are only for Sony Xperia TX LT29i running the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean 9.2.A.1.215 firmware.
- This guide works perfectly with both Locked/Unlocked Bootloader.
- Your phone battery should be charged over at least 60%. It is compulsory in order to prevent any low battery issues during rooting.
- Enable USB debugging mode on your device. To do so go to settings then developer options then USB debugging mode then enable it. in case you don’t find developer options then go to settings then about device then press build number for 7 times to enable the developer option.
- Use OEM data cable to build connection between your PC and your phone.
- Allow unknown sources to your phone. To do this go to Settings > Security > Unknown Sources.
How To Root Sony Xperia TX LT29i running 9.2.A.1.215 Firmware
- First download the latest version of towelroot app from HERE.
- Click on the lambda sign and right click on the next page and save page as.
- Connect your Galaxy S4 to PC via the USB cable and Copy the tr.apk file.
- Go to phone Settings > Security and check the Unknown Sources.
- Now navigate to the storage directory where you’ve placed the apk file.
- Install it.
- Launch the towelroot app.
- Tap on the make it ra1n.
- Wait for the rooting process to complete. When done, your phone will automatically reboots.
- To install SuperSU app which grants root permission to your device. Download it from HERE.
- Unzip the folder and copy the Superuser.apk from the Common folder to your phone.
- Just like the other apk file, install it.
- That’s it, you’ve now successfully rooted the Sony Xperia TX LT29i.
- To verify root access, you can also install the Root Checker app from the Google PlayStore.
How to Install Custom ROMs
- First of all, Creat backup of your current rom.
- download the proper update file for your mobile on computer.
- Optional: download the Google apps package if it is not included on the firmware file.
- Save the files on desktop; don’t unzip them.
- Then, connect your handset with the computer.
- Establish the connecting by using the USB cord.
- Copy-paste or drag and drop the downloaded files from desktop to your phone’s (tablet’s) SD card.
- Disconnect the devices by unplugging the USB cable.
- Turn off your smartphone / tablet and wait a few seconds.
- Then reboot your gadget into recovery mode.
- Next, navigate through the recovery mode menu and select “wipe data factory reset”, “wipe cache partition” and “wipe dalvick cache”.
- The system will now be wiped out, so that’s why the backup has been recommended before.
- Up next, return to recovery main menu: select “+++go back+++”.
- And choose “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card”.
- Pick the update file and flash the same.
- Optional: repeat this operation for applying the Google Apps package.
- When the installation process ends, from recovery select “+++go back+++” and “reboot system now”.
- You are done.
Troubleshooting:
In some cases after flashing the custom ROM, when rebooting the first time, your handset might get stuck in a boot loop (if the first boot takes longer than usual, don’t panic, there is nothing wrong with your device); if that happens, follow:
- Reboot in recovery once more.
- From there select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”.
- Return and reboot.
- Optional: if needed now you can restore the previous software So, use the recovery menu and select “backup and restore”.
